Poster 260: Influence of Donor Demographics on Graft Survival following Knee Osteochondral Allograft Transplantation

نویسندگان

چکیده

Objectives: To evaluate whether donor and recipient factors such as age, sex mismatch, time from death to graft implantation affect survival following knee osteochondral allograft (OCA) transplantation. Methods: Patients undergoing OCA transplantation in the 2003-2016 were prospectively followed. Inclusion criteria consisted of primary minimum 2-year follow-up. Patient demographic data collected. evaluated for failure, defined (1) subchondral collapse confirmed on postoperative MRI scans, or via second-look arthroscopy setting persistent symptoms, (2) removal revision OCA, (3) conversion arthroplasty. Multivariate cox proportional hazards modelling was utilized associations between variables failure. Results: A total 220 patients met inclusion followed a mean 5.9 ± 2.8 years (range: 2.0 – 16.3, Table 1). The most common concomitant procedure meniscal (Table 2). mismatch present significantly more female (65%) than male (10%, p < 0.001). days until 24.1 15 28). Thirty-nine (18%) failure at 4.3 3.2 3). Log-rank testing did not determine difference survivability those with donor-recipient (P = .130 .831, respectively). Upon multivariate regression, no association existed survival. Of note, increased age associated .020) trended towards significance males .166). Conclusions: appears be strongly influenced by age. In contrast previous historic data, substantial noted mismatched donors recipients. These can help inform selection outcome optimization OCA. [Table: see text][Table: text]

Influence of donor-recipient gender mismatch on graft function and survival following lung transplantation.

OBJECTIVES In current practice, donors and recipients are not matched for gender in lung transplantation. However, some data have suggested a possible effect of gender combinations on lung transplant outcomes. We examined whether donor-recipient (D/R) gender mismatch is related to adverse outcomes after lung transplantation in terms of early and long-term graft function and survival. METHODS ...

Outcomes of Total Knee Arthroplasty After Osteochondral Allograft Transplantation.

BACKGROUND Fresh osteochondral allograft (OCA) transplantation is an effective treatment for osteochondral defects. Some patients require further surgical intervention, such as total knee arthroplasty (TKA). The effects of prior OCA transplantation on TKA outcomes are unknown. PURPOSE This study evaluated TKA failure rates after long-term follow-up and identified factors that may have contrib...

Osteochondral allograft transplantation.

Experience with fresh osteochondral allografting for cartilage defects in the knee now extends two decades. Clinical outcomes and basic scientific investigations have supported the theoretic basis for this procedure. At the University of California, San Diego, our experience has encouraged us to continue to offer this procedure as a primary treatment for both large and small articular cartilage...
